Everyday Theory shows students how to apply critical theories to their everyday lives. In the process, students gain confidence approaching material that can otherwise seem both alien and daunting. This anthology's novel thematic organization provides students with a familiar topic or concept (e.g., money, education, entertainment) to use as a lens for viewing an unfamiliar topic or concept (e.g., alterity, hegemony, the panopticon). Using issues that relate to students' daily lives allows them to create a context, make a connection, or find an entry point, for more abstract or theoretical ideas.
